Psychotherapy Specializing in
Eating and Body Image Issues
About
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing virtual therapy to clients living in Kentucky and Indiana. My areas of specialization include eating disorders, disordered eating, body image issues, and trauma.
In addition to being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am also a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS) and a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor (CIEC). These specializations indicate that the therapy I do is informed by a non-diet approach that honors every body at every size.
I am also a member of the Association for Weight and Size Inclusive Medicine (AWSIM), which promotes the well-being of all individuals with an emphasis on healthful behaviors rather than simply focusing on weight loss. I strive to educate and advocate against weight stigma in all aspects of our society.
I am available for consultation for therapists seeking to understand more about the various ways that disordered eating may present itself in therapy and the manner in which their own weight biases might create blind spots that can affect the therapeutic relationship.
I post a Substack column called Sizeism in Psychotherapy which highlights the ways in which weight discrimination affects all aspects of our lives, and how therapists can educate themselves in order to fully support those clients living in larger bodies.
